Start to Finish
Step 1 - Design
Every pattern begins as an original drawing — either in my sketchbook, on my tablet, or sketched directly onto the leather. My floral work is usually drafted first, while many of my landscapes are drawn freehand right onto the hide.
Step 2 - Material
All pieces are made from Herman Oak Grade A veg tan, the best quality leather available. Everything is crafted to be durable yet comfortable — solid, but never bulky. All items are lined and stitched for longevity (except earrings, which stay lightweight).
Step 3 - Construction
My belts include a skived insert between the layers to add body, reduce sagging over time, and create a clean, domed profile.
Step 4 - Paint
Every painted item is hand-painted by me, and yes — the paint truly lasts.
Paint generally only wears where gear receives constant friction, like around spur buttons or headstall buckles — and even then, it takes years.
